You’ll have a chance to touch the magnificent snowy walls of the highest situated building in Ukraine, to hear interesting facts from the history of its constructing and functioning, and to observe the breathtaking views of winter Carpathians. We spend nights in wooden hut equipped with stove.

Day 1

In the morning you will meet your guides and the rest of the group at the railway station (main entrance) in Ivano-Frankivsk. There we will get a shuttle bus to the starting point of our hike – lovely little village Shybene. Our winter adventure begins here. Before step on the trail we’ll need to register our group (do not forget your passport). The trail leads across the snowy forest to the alpine meadow Vesnyarka where the group stops for the first night. We spend the night in wooden shepherd's hut which has a stove, so we’ll not get cold.

Walking time – 4-5 hrs.

Day 2

«White Elephant story»

After breakfast we start our hike up to the White Elephant. On the way the group stops for the rest near the mountain lake Maricheika. From here we head on directly to the summit of Pip-Ivan (2022 m). This mount is considered to be a second the most popular in Ukrainian Carpathians, after Hoverla of course. Tourists from all over are coming here to see the main attraction of Chornohora an old building of meteorological observatory “White Elephant”, which is the highest situated building in Ukraine. The construction of the observatory was finished in 1938. But unfortunately it valuably functioned only one year. You will find out some very interesting facts from the history of its building and functioning. After all, the group is descending back to the hut on Vesnyarka meadow. In the evening we’ll have delicious dinner, hot tea and full of good impressions we’ll get to sleep.

Walking time – 8 hrs.

Day 3

After the breakfast our group is getting back to the village Shybene. Amazing winter scenery of Ukrainian Carpathians and good impressions will always stay in your memories. So, next year you’ll definitely come back. In the village we’re taking shuttle bus to Ivano-Frankivsk.

Walking time – 3 hrs.

Arriving time to Ivano-Frankivsk – 6 pm.

Extra Day! When you book tickets back home, it’s good to add extra one or two days to your trip. Sometimes, because of bad weather conditions and snowfall the group can stuck in the mountains. So, we’ll not be able to get to Ivano-Frankivsk in time. But in this case you will get extra time to continue your holidays in winter Carpathians:)
