A three-day canoeing is an ideal option for an active and interesting weekend. In this exciting journey we’ll see the most famous rivers of Prykarpattia – Limnytsia and Dnister. On the first day the group will canoe along the Limnitsa – one of the cleanest rivers in Europe, we will go all the way down to its mouth. The next part of the route goes along the beautiful Dnister River and presents its majestic canyon. This water trip is quite active, as in 3 days we will get to paddle almost 90 km, but it's definitely worth it!
Day 1 Limnytsia River
In the morning you will meet your guides and the rest of the group at the railway station (main entrance) in Ivano-Frankivsk. There we will get a shuttle to the starting point of our trip – Medynia village. Here on the river bank we have some safety trainings and after loading our gear and ourselves into the boats we push off and head down the Limnytsia River, which is considered to be one of the cleanest rivers in Ukraine and Europe. The Limnytsia River is 122 km long.
Our first stop – Sokil rocks, here we are going for a short walk up to the top, where you can take amazing panoramic pictures of the river valley. We continue our rafting adventure. In few kilometers our team will get to the Dnister River.
Today we’ll stop for the night in Poberezhia village.
Day 2 Meeting with the Dnister Canyon
We start the day with a nice short walk to the Mariampil Castle of the XVII century, visit the oldest Dendropark in Ivano-Frankivsk (1690). In addition, from the top of the hill opens an impressive panoramic view of the Dnister – a wonderful place for photo shoot.
After excursion we continue our water adventure. The landscape is changing, flat banks of the river become higher and transfer into the Dnister canyon – one of the natural wonders of Ukraine. In the village of Nyzhniv we will see an old bridge – one of the longest on the Dnister (473 m), built at the time of Austria-Hungary. The group passes under the bridge and continues its water adventure. Our next target – Vistria village, where we will camp tonight.
Day 3 Big Meander
After the breakfast we break the camp and load the boat. Ahead – a wonderful day, exploring the nature of the Dnister Canyon. We float down the river, passing through unique river meander with the length about 20 km. Another beautiful places on the route, that we’ll get to visit, are huge rocks of the Red Devon Sandstone, which are situated in the Vistria and Budzyn villages. The age of this geological miracle is over 400 million years. The ending point of our trip is Luh village. We say bye to the Dnister Canyon and leave for Ivano-Frankivsk.
Approximate arrival time – 20:00.
