Our trail leads to the highlands of Chornohora – the highest and the most popular mountain range in Ukrainian Carpathians. During the trip you’ll visit all the highlights of this spectacular area: dip glacial valleys, lovely mountain lake Nesamovyte, the highest mount in Ukraine – Hoverla, and wonderful Prutski waterfalls. You will definitely leave this land re-energized and fully satisfied, that your trip was a great experience to be repeated once again.
Day 1Nesamovyte Lake
In the morning you will meet your guides and the rest of your group at the railway station (main entrance) in Ivano-Frankivsk. There we will get a shuttle bus to the starting point of our hike – tourist base Zarosliak. Our trail leads us through the old pine forest to the alpine zone. We'll enjoy spectacular views of Chornohora mountain range and surrounding mountains as we hike from Zarosliak to Nesamovyte Lake where we’ll stop for the night. The lake is situated in a large glacial cirque on the eastern slopes of the Turkul Mount at height of 1750 meters. This lake has mysterious meaning for locals. The local people “Hutsuly” believe, if you throw a stone into the lake, the storm with strong wind and rain will come.
Walking time – 3 hrs.
Day 2Hoverla Mount
The 2d day is the most spectacular day of the trek. From the lake we start on the central range of Chornohora. Now it is an administrative border between Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions, previously – state border between Poland and Czechoslovakia. About 4 hours hike and we get to the summit of the highest mount in Ukrainian Carpathians – Hoverla 2061m. In clear weather the views here are amazing and can reach up to hundreds kilometers. By the way, the name Hoverla from Hungarian means “snow peak”, as you could see a snow on its slopes almost the whole year round. From the summit our group gets down to the old glacial valley where the Prut River creates the cascading falls. Their general height riches up to 80 miters. Nearby we’ll spend our last night.
Walking time – 6 hrs.
Day 3Zarosliak
From our campsite we’re heading down to the training and sport base Zarosliak, place where we started to hike. This is one of the most popular tourist destination among hikers who are going to climb Hoverla Mount. In Zarosliak we'll have enough time to walk around and buy nice local souvenirs. Then the shuttle bus will take us back to Ivano-Frankivsk.
Walking time – 2 hrs.
Arriving time to Ivano-Frankivsk – 6 pm.
